| Victoria Falls Safari |
 |
Africa it is said... is where time beats to a different drum. Southern Africa has uniqueness to it unparalleled to any other destination on the planet, ranging from the harshest unforgiving desert-like terrain to the wildlife rich swamps of the Okavango Delta and Etosha National Park; from the roaring thunders and breathtaking views of the Victoria Falls to the relaxed sophistication of Cape Town.
South Africa, the southernmost country on the African continent will be your arrival and departure portal. This is where the west meets the traditional ways of Africa, from the hustle and the bustle of Johannesburg to the breathtaking beauty of Cape Town and her surroundings her uniqueness will inspire. Our 16 day Southern African Overland motorcycle safari will start in Johannesburg and soon we'll be heading in a north westerly direction towards Botswana border.
Botswana still remains unspoilt considering the wealth that lies beneath her soil. The country is the largest exporter of diamonds in the world, not forgetting the other mineral recourses and natural treasures it has. Elephant and other wildlife are often encountered on the countries roads and a healthy respect is to be found between Mother Nature and the local people. Our Southern African Overland motorcycle safari takes us through Francistown to Nata where we'll briefly visit the Makgadikgadi Pans as we head towards Livingstone, gateway to the Victoria Falls.
Zambia is known for its wildlife, but shares one of the natural wonders of the world - the Victoria Falls - with her neighbour Zimbabwe. The majesty of the Vic Falls, as it is commonly known, will remain with you for the rest of your life and no journey to Southern Africa is complete without seeing it. We spend two nights at the falls to allow you ample time to enjoy all the optional activities there are on offer, from white water rafting down the mighty Zambezi River to micro light flights over the falls.
We continue our Southern African Overland motorcycle safari as we head into Namibia via the Chobe National Park. Namibia with its endless horizons, its contrasting landscapes and pristine beauty will steal your heart forever. The vistas in the Namib Desert - especially Sossusvlei, Deadvlei and Sesriem, and in the Fish River Canyon are like nowhere else to be found. It offers the traveller an unparalleled experience and a visit to Namibia must feature on every traveller's "to do list". Our journey nears its end as we start heading down south towards the Fish River Canyon. We are a few riding days way from Cape Town where Table Mountain welcomes us to enjoy the Cape of Goodhope.
The entire region offers the rider a pleasant climate, unpolluted air and clear blue skies. Come and enjoy endless nights under the Milky Way as we traverse three countries and nearly 5000 km's in 16 days whilst having all the fun imaginable on our trusted BMW motorcycles. It is important to note that most of the roads to be travelled in Namibia are gravel roads and a very short distance will be done on a salt road. To minimize the chance of injury and or accidents, it is advisable that participants have some experience riding gravel and sandy surfaces.
