Namibia Adventure - "the road less traveled"
Cape Town to Windhoek

Our Namibia Motorcycle Tour will start in Cape Town and end in the capital of Namibia, Windhoek. After exploring the best Cape Town has to offer such as the Cape Peninsula Route and visited Table Mountain, our journey will take us north towards the Namibian border through an area known as Namaqualand, a semi arid region known for its flower beauty in spring. Crossing the border into Namibia, we continue to the world's second largest canyon, the Fish River Canyon. Thereafter we ride along the banks of the Orange River to Luderitz where we will visit the ghost mining town of Kolmanskop and the desert dwelling feral horses at Aus. We follow the gravel roads north along the edge of the Namib Naukluft Park via Zaris to Sossusvlei, Deadvlei and Sesriem as we continue to the coastal town of Swakopmund. Swakopmund is a two night stopover for us to fully enjoy its German culture and Colonial feel. Here one can enjoy an array of outdoor activities such as quad biking or sand boarding in the dunes or a seal and dolphin boat cruise. En route to the Etosha National Park we visit the Brandberg (Burnt Mountain), Namibia's highest mountain at 2574m as well as Twyfelfontein. This region is known as Africa's largest open air art museum with more than 44 000 rock paintings and the Organ Pipes, a series of angular columns of dolerite exposed in a dry river bed.

Etosha will be the furthest north we venture and after enjoying a game drive (optional) in one of Africa's most prestige wildlife parks we head back south to Windhoek where our Namibia Motorcycle Tour will end. The capital of Namibia, Windhoek is a compulsory stop and no visit to the capital will be complete without a visit to Joe's Beer House, a local eatery which has become synonymous with Windhoek. We all depart from here back home and after handing the motorcycles back to the rental company, we spend our last few hours exploring Windhoek and doing some last minute shopping whilst reflecting on the experience we have enjoyed, places we have visited and friends we have made.

It is important to note that about 50 % of the roads traveled are gravel roads and a very short distance will be done on a salt road. To minimize the chance of injury and or accidents, it is advisable that participants have some experience riding gravel and sandy surfaces.
