Who is Swartberg Biking?

Brainchild of Gavin Green, Swartberg Biking was born from a passion shared amongst friends who collectively pursued their 'forever young' dreams. Gavin brought a dedicated South African adventure and leisure motorcycle tour operator to life to take its pride of place amongst world-class names.

Gavin, a keen parachutist and scuba diver who dived the Southern African coastline extensively, started to take to the open road on two wheels to explore "the road less traveled" and fell in love with the open Karoo landscapes, the expansive Namib Desert and all that the freedom of two wheels bring about.

After 15 years of pursuing a career and passions in the corporate world, in 2004 Gavin exchanged his formal attire for a motorcycle suit, donned a helmet and set out to combine his natural business acumen with his passion and hence Swartberg Biking was born.

The name Swartberg Biking translates to Black Mountain Biking.

Gavin is also a registered National Tour Guide with specialist qualifications in the Swartberg, Klein - Karoo and Gamkaskloof (also known as "The Hell") regions.

Being based in Cape Town, Swartberg Biking offers a variety of tours to choose from. These tours include countries like South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland and further a field Southern African countries like Botswana, Zambia and Namibia. Our tours are refreshingly different and we strive to create tours that will fulfill the needs of any passionate motorcyclist, both riders and pillions, whether an adventure seeker or a rider merely wishing to enjoy and experience the destination. We use both Cape Town and Johannesburg as departure points or end destinations.

Whilst on tour you will be given a choice of restaurants and activities to visit and enjoy whilst we have included some "must do" activities to entice your friends.
