Who is Swartberg Biking Motorcycle Tours?
Swartberg Biking motorcycle tours is a dedicated South African motorcycle tour operator based in Cape Town. As the founder, Gavin Green would say, Swartberg Biking was born out of a passion shared among friends who collectively pursued their 'forever young' dreams by enjoying motorcycle travel.
Having pursued his career and passions for more than fifteen years in the corporate world, the dreams of Gavin, a keen parachutist and scuba diver, caused him to start this exciting motorcycle travel company in 2004. On the back of his BMW motorcycle he embarked on various exhilarating and unforgettable motorcycle trips with friends, which inevitably led to the birth of Swartberg Biking motorcycle tours. Having scuba - dived the Southern African coastline extensively, his new found love for the open South Africa Karoo landscape and the Namib Desert plains with its ever inviting passes and gravel roads, saw him taking to two wheels to travel this "road less explored".
Today, Gavin is registered National Tour Guide with specialist qualifications in the Swartberg, Klein - Karoo and Gamkaskloof (also known as "The Hell") regions.

There are budget motorcycle travel packages available in the marketplace, but we prefer to offer a quality service and product that will delight every aspect of your being here.
Our Swartberg Biking motorcycle trips are not faceless and Gavin hosts the majority himself. He has handpicked all the suppliers and accommodation venues rated on the service and experience you as our guest expects. Whilst on tour you will be given a choice of restaurants and activities to visit and enjoy whilst we have included some "must do" activities based on previous client feedback.
As a proudly South African motorcycle tour operator, we avoid venues and activities which you can enjoy back home and strive to give you a uniquely African and South African experience. We go out of our way to find truly unique venues by letting you travel the not-so-common routes, to let you taste and soak up what South Africa and its people has to offer you. This all takes place within a safe and secure environment which Swartberg Biking has created over the years purely for your enjoyment.
We at Swartberg Biking motorcycle tours wish to make your motorcycle trip as safe and memorable as possible while enjoying your stay. Therefore we have decided to restrict our groups to a minimum of six and a maximum of ten participants excluding pillions.
